Beginilah firman TUHAN Janganlah orang bijaksana membanggakan diri karena hikmatnya janganlah orang kuat membanggakan diri karena kekuatannya janganlah orang kaya membanggakan diri karena kekayaannya

Siapakah yang tidak takut kepada-Mu ya Raja segala bangsa Sebab itulah yang layak diberikan kepada-Mu Sebab di antara semua orang bijaksana dari bangsa-bangsa dan di semua kerajaan-kerajaan mereka tidak ada seorang pun seperti Engkau

Kemudian mereka berkata Kemarilah mari kita membuat rencana-rencana melawan Yeremia karena Hukum Taurat tidak akan lenyap dari imam ataupun nasihat dari orang bijaksana ataupun firman dari nabi Kemarilah mari kita mendakwanya dengan lidah kita dan mari kita tidak menghiraukan kata-katanya
