Kota-kota yang harus kamu berikan kepada orang Lewi termasuk enam kota perlindungan Supaya jika ada seorang pembunuh dapat melarikan diri ke sana Selain itu berikanlah pula 42 kota lainnya

kamu harus memilih kota-kota untuk menjadi kota perlindungan supaya jika ada yang tidak sengaja membunuh orang lain bisa melarikan diri ke sana

Tentukanlah 6 kota sebagai kota-kota perlindungan

Numbers 35:14

Tiga kota berada di seberang Sungai Yordan dan tiga kota di tanah Kanaan itulah kota-kota perlindungan

Numbers 35:25

Umat harus membebaskan pembunuh itu dari tangan penuntut darah dan mereka harus mengembalikannya ke kota perlindungan tempat dia melarikan diri Dia harus tinggal di sana sampai imam besar yang diurapi dengan minyak kudus itu mati

Dia harus tinggal di kota perlindungan sampai imam besar mati setelah imam besar mati dia dapat kembali ke tanah miliknya

Juga jangan menerima uang tebusan dari orang yang melarikan diri ke kota perlindungan agar dia dapat kembali ke tanah miliknya sebelum imam besar mati
