Musa memberimu sunat sebenarnya itu bukan dari Musa tetapi dari nenek moyang dan kamu menyunat orang pada hari Sabat

Acts 7:8

Lalu Allah memberikan kepada Abraham perjanjian sunat maka Abraham menjadi ayah Ishak dan menyunatnya saat berusia delapan hari dan Ishak menjadi ayah Yakub dan Yakub kedua belas bapa leluhur

Sebab yang disebut Yahudi sejati bukanlah orang yang tampak dari luarnya saja dan sunat yang sesungguhnya bukanlah sunat pada tubuh saja

Seorang Yahudi sejati adalah orang yang batinnya sungguh-sungguh Yahudi dan sunat yang sesungguhnya adalah sunat yang dilakukan pada hati yang dijalankan oleh Roh bukan oleh hukum tertulis Pujian terhadap orang seperti ini bukan datang dari manusia tetapi dari Allah sendiri

Abraham menerima tanda sunat sebagai meterai kebenaran iman sebelum ia bersunat supaya ia dapat menjadi bapa bagi semua orang yang percaya tak bersunat sehingga kebenaran itu juga diperhitungkan kepada mereka

Jadi Saudara-saudara jika aku masih memberitakan sunat mengapa aku masih dianiaya Jika demikian batu sandungan terhadap salib telah disingkirkan
