Dia menyingkirkan bukit-bukit pengurbanan menghancurkan tugu-tugu berhala dan menebang tiang-tiang berhala Dia menghancurkan ular tembaga yang dibuat oleh Musa sebab sampai saat itu keturunan Israel masih membakar dupa untuk ular itu yang disebut Nehustan

Yosia membawa tiang-tiang berhala keluar dari Bait TUHAN ke luar Yerusalem yaitu ke Sungai Kidron Dia membakarnya di Sungai Kidron melumatkannya halus-halus menjadi abu dan melemparkan abunya ke atas kuburan rakyat jelata

Dia meremukkan tugu-tugu berhala dan meruntuhkan tiang-tiang berhala serta memenuhi tempat itu dengan tulang-tulang manusia
