Kaum juru tulis yang tinggal di Yabes yaitu orang Tirati orang Simati dan orang Sukhati Mereka adalah orang Keni keturunan Hamat bapa kaum Rekhab

Yabes lebih mulia daripada saudara-saudaranya Ibunya menamai dia Yabes sebab dia berkata Aku melahirkan dia dengan kesakitan
