Daud keluar menemui mereka dan berkata kepada mereka Jika kamu datang dalam damai untuk membantuku maka aku mau bersekutu dengan kamu Namun jika kamu datang untuk menyerahkan aku kepada lawanku dengan tipu daya sementara aku tidak bersalah kiranya Allah nenek moyang kita melihat hal itu dan menghukum kamu

2 Chronicles 28:23

Dia mempersembahkan kurban kepada ilah orang Damsyik yang mengalahkannya Dia berkata Karena ilah raja-raja Aram membantu mereka aku akan mempersembahkan kurban kepada ilah-ilah itu supaya mereka membantuku Ilah-ilah itulah yang menjatuhkan dia dan seluruh Israel
