Pada zaman itu ketika Raja Ahasyweros duduk di takhta kerajaannya di kastel Susan

Esther 2:3

Biarlah raja menunjuk para pengawas di setiap provinsi kerajaannya supaya mereka mengumpulkan semua anak-anak dara yang cantik rupanya ke kastel Susan ke harem di bawah pengawasan Hegai sida-sida raja yang menjaga para perempuan dan biarlah diberikan perawatan kecantikan kepada mereka

Setelah perintah dan undang-undang raja tersiar dan banyak gadis dikumpulkan di kastel Susan di bawah pengawasan Hegai maka Ester dibawa ke istana raja di bawah pengawasan Hegai penjaga para perempuan

Pada hari itu jumlah orang yang dibunuh di kastel Susan disampaikan kepada raja

Raja berkata kepada Ratu Ester Orang-orang Yahudi sudah membunuh dan membinasakan lima ratus orang termasuk kesepuluh anak laki-laki Haman di kastel Susan Apa yang telah mereka lakukan di provinsi raja yang lain Sekarang apa permohonanmu Itu akan diberikan kepadamu Apa permintaanmu selanjutnya Itu juga akan dipenuhi
