Esther 3:6

Namun dia memandang dirinya hina jika dia hanya mencelakai Mordekhai karena orang telah memberitahukan kebangsaan Mordekhai kepadanya Oleh karena itu Haman berusaha untuk memunahkan semua orang Yahudi yaitu bangsa Mordekhai yang berada di seluruh kerajaan Ahasyweros

Surat-surat itu dikirimkan melalui para kurir ke semua provinsi raja untuk memunahkan membunuh dan membinasakan semua orang Yahudi dari yang muda sampai tua anak-anak kecil maupun perempuan dalam sehari pada hari ketiga belas bulan kedua belas yaitu bulan Adar dan merampas harta milik mereka
