Dan kamu hai yang dihancurkan apa yang akan kamu lakukan Walaupun kamu mengenakan pakaian merah walaupun kamu mendandani diri dengan perhiasan-perhiasan emas walaupun kamu merias matamu dengan celak percuma saja kamu mempercantik dirimu sendiri Kekasih-kekasihmu mencampakkanmu mereka berusaha membunuhmu

Lalu Raja Zedekia secara diam-diam bersumpah kepada Yeremia katanya Demi TUHAN yang hidup yang memberi kita nyawa aku tidak akan membunuhmu atau menyerahkan kamu ke tangan orang-orang yang berusaha membunuhmu ini
