Dia mengangkatnya lalu pergi ke kota Mertuanya melihat apa yang sudah dipungutnya itu maka Rut pun mengeluarkan dan memberikan kepada mertuanya sisa makanan yang disimpan sebelumnya karena dia sudah kenyang

Mertuanya bertanya kepadanya Di mana kamu memungut sisa jelai hari ini Di mana kamu bekerja Diberkatilah orang yang telah memperhatikan kamu Lalu Rut menceritakan kepada mertuanya kepada siapa dia telah bekerja katanya Pada hari ini aku bekerja pada orang yang bernama Boas
