1 Samuel 5:3

Keesokan harinya ketika orang Asdod bangun pagi-pagi terlihatlah Dagon jatuh tertelungkup menghadap Tabut Allah Kemudian mereka mengambil Dagon dan mengembalikan ke tempatnya

Keesokan paginya ketika mereka bangun pagi-pagi terlihatlah Dagon jatuh tertelungkup menghadap Tabut Allah Namun kepala Dagon dan kedua tangannya putus dan terpelanting ke ambang pintu Namun demikian badan Dagon itu masih tersisa di dekatnya

Orang muda yang membawa kabar itu berkata Kebetulan aku berada di Pegunungan Gilboa dan terlihatlah Saul bersandar pada tombaknya sedangkan kereta-kereta dan orang-orang berkuda mengejarnya
