Samuel mengambil tanduk berisi minyak dan mengurapinya di tengah-tengah saudara-saudaranya Sejak hari itu Roh TUHAN berkuasa atas Daud dengan luar biasa Samuel berangkat dan pulang ke Rama

Daud berkata Salomo anakku masih muda dan kurang berpengalaman sedangkan bait yang akan dibangun bagi TUHAN harus luar biasa besar masyhur dan mulia di seluruh negeri Itulah sebabnya aku akan membuat persiapan untuk itu Lalu Daud membuat banyak persiapan sebelum kematiannya
