Kemudian Daud melepas tentaranya sepertiga di bawah perintah Yoab sepertiga di bawah perintah Abisai anak Zeruya adik Yoab dan sepertiga lagi di bawah perintah Itai orang Gat Raja berkata kepada rakyat Aku juga akan maju berperang bersamamu

Lalu Abisai anak Zeruya berkata Bukankah terhadap hal ini Simei harus dihukum mati karena telah mengutuki orang yang diurapi TUHAN

2 Samuel 19:22

Daud menjawab Siapakah kamu hai anak Zeruya sehingga menjadi lawanku pada hari ini Apakah hari ini seseorang harus dihukum mati di Israel Sebab tidakkah aku mengetahui bahwa pada hari ini aku adalah raja atas Israel

2 Samuel 21:17

Kemudian Abisai anak Zeruya datang menolong dengan merobohkan dan membunuh orang Filistin itu Sesudah itu orang-orang Daud memohon dengan sangat kepadanya dengan berkata Engkau jangan maju lagi untuk berperang bersama kami agar keturunan Israel jangan punah
