Hal itu terjadi karena dosa-dosa Yerobeam yang telah dia lakukan dan yang menyebabkan Israel berdosa dan karena kekesalannya sehingga membangkitkan murka TUHAN Allah Israel

Aku akan membuat keluargamu sama seperti keluarga Yerobeam anak Nebat dan seperti keluarga Baesa anak Ahia karena kekesalannya sehingga membangkitkan murka-Ku dan menyebabkan Israel berdosa
