Pada waktu rombongan nabi yang dari Yerikho melihatnya dari jauh mereka berkata Roh Elia telah hinggap pada Elisa Lalu mereka datang untuk menemuinya dan bersujud kepadanya sampai ke tanah

Air itu pun disehatkan sampai hari ini sesuai dengan firman yang telah Elisa katakan

Namun Yosafat bertanya Apakah tidak ada di sini seorang nabi TUHAN untuk meminta petunjuk kepada TUHAN dari padanya Salah seorang pegawai raja Israel berbicara katanya Di sini ada Elisa anak Safat yang dahulu menuangkan air ke atas tangan Elia

Namun Elisa berkata kepada raja Israel Apa urusanku Pergi kepada para nabi ayahmu dan kepada para nabi ibumu Raja Israel menjawab Tidak karena TUHAN memanggil ketiga raja ini untuk diserahkan ke dalam tangan Moab

Elisa berkata Demi TUHAN semesta alam yang hidup yang di hadapan-Nya aku menjadi pelayan Jika bukan karena Yosafat raja Yehuda aku tidak akan mengangkat pandanganku untuk melihat sekali pun terhadapmu

Elisa berkata kepadanya Apa yang dapat aku perbuat Beritahukanlah apa yang kamu punya di rumah Jawabnya Tidak ada sesuatu apa pun di rumah hambamu ini selain hanya sebuah buli-buli berisi minyak

Elisa kembali ke Gilgal ketika bencana kelaparan melanda negeri itu Saat rombongan nabi sedang duduk di depannya dia berkata kepada pelayannya Taruhlah kuali paling besar dan masaklah makanan bagi rombongan nabi itu
