Namun Yoseba putri Raja Yoram dan saudara perempuan Ahazia mengambil Yoas anak Ahazia dan membawanya pergi dari antara anak-anak raja yang akan dibunuh itu Yoseba memasukkannya bersama pengasuhnya ke kamar tidur dan menyembunyikannya dari Atalya supaya dia tidak dibunuh

Seluruh rakyat negeri bersukaria dan kota itu menjadi tenang setelah Atalya mati dibunuh dengan pedang di istana raja
